Dr.Ajay Kumar Naithani

Dr Ajay Kumar Naithani did MSc in Geology and PhD in Engineering Geology from HNB Garhwal Central University. He has been actively involved in the field of engineering geology and landslide hazard assessment for more than 22 years. He has more than 82 scientific papers and 23 popular articles to his credit, published in national and international journals and proceedings. He was conferred with “Young Scientist Fellowship” and “Senior Research Associateship” by Govt. of India. He is the recipient of the prestigious “Young Scientist Award” from Govt. of Uttarakhand for the year of 2007 for his distinguished contributions in the field of Geology, GSI – Sesquicentennial Commemorative Award from Geological Society of India for the year of 2009, for his distinguished contribution in the field of Engineering Geology and Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Best Paper Award for the year 2015-16 in the section of Engineering Sciences. Presently, he is working as a Senior Scientist (Scientist F) and Head of the Department of Engineering Geology Department of National Institute of Rock Mechanics.
Dr.Devendra Singh Rawat

Dr. D.S. Rawat did his M.Sc. in Geology in 2000 and Ph.D. in Geology in 2012 from the HNB Garhwal University (A Central University) Srinagar Garhwal. In 2002 he has done Post Graduate Diploma in Water Resources from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing. He joined National Institute of Rock Mechanics as a Scientist-I in October 2008. Prior to join NIRM he worked in various Departments of Uttarakhand Govt. He is having the working experience in engineering geological mapping/logging, collection of field data and their interpretations, rock mass characterization and support design. He has published more than 16 research papers in national, international journals and proceedings.
Dr.Laishram Gopeshwar Singh
Scientist-III
Dr. L. G. Singh obtained his M. Sc (Applied Geology) in 2002 and Ph. D. (Geology) in 2012 from Kurukshetra University. He also holds PG Diploma in Mineral Exploration & Mining Geology (2003) from Annamalai University. He joined NIRM in 2008 as Scientist-I. Prior to joint in the institute he was Senior Research Fellow (CSIR-SRF) in Kurukshetra University. His area of interest is comprehensive geological and geotechnical investigation for different engineering structures during pre-construction, construction stages. He has well expertise with surface and sub surface geological mapping, bore hole logging, rock mass classifications and estimation rock supports for different engineering projects. He has published more than 22 research papers in international and national journals/proceedings.
Dr.Prasnna Jain
Scientist-III
Prasnna Jain, M.Tech. in Applied Geology from NIT Raipur in 2006. He obtained Ph.D. in Engineering Geology from IIT Bombay in 2014. He joined National Institute of Rock Mechanics as a Scientist-I in July, 2009. Prior to joining this institute he worked as a Geologist (Mar, 2008-June, 2009) with Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. Mumbai. Before this he was Junior Research Fellow at ISMU, Dhanbad. He has experience in excavation by Surface Miner, tunnelling by TBM, surface geological mapping, geotechnical investigation, drill core logging and 3-D mapping of shafts and tunnels.
