Governing Body

The Governing Body is the highest executive body of the Institute and is responsible for taking major policy decisions, including administrative and financial matters. It meets periodically to review, guide, and support the activities, functioning, and overall development of the Institute. Governing Body is reconstituted every three years. The proceedings/minutes of the Governing Body meetings are not displayed publicly, as their circulation is restricted to the members and certain decisions are confidential in nature.

The present constitution of the Governing Body members, as of 2026, is as follows:

General Body

The Institute is registered under the Societies Registration Act. As per the Memorandum of Association, the General Body of the Institute is empowered to undertake all such actions as may be necessary for effectively carrying out the aims and objectives of NIRM.

The General Body lays down broad policy directions for guidance and implementation by the Governing Body. It also considers and approves the annual accounts, reviews the performance of the Society, and transacts any other business as may be necessary. Subject to the approval of the Government, the General Body has the authority to frame, amend, or repeal the Rules and Regulations of the Society.
